Growing up in Sydney in a very political household, Verity found herself involved in politics as early as her university years. After uni, Verity was given the opportunity to work for Anthony Albanese in his electorate office. She then spent time as a marginal seat Campaign Director. Opportunities came and went in the filed of politics. Then, the biggest that landed on her feet as she became a State Member for Balmain. She then worked as a Minister in several small ministries in the New South Wales Parliament. She moved on to become the New South Wales Minister for Education and Training, managing a 14 billion dollar budget.
All her knowledge and experiences led to becoming the Executive Director of the Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion at the University of Technology in Sydney. Verity continues to work towards making education accessible to as many people as possible.
