Do what you are afraid to do. Move Outside of your Comfort zone.
The official definition of “your comfort zone” is:
“A situation where one feels safe or at ease. It is the type of behaviour that keeps you at a low anxiety level.”
These are things you do all the time, like taking the bus to uni, going to class, watching TV, going to the GYM.
These are all everyday activities that you’re used to. They’re part of your comfort zone.
If you think about it: you had to get out of your comfort zone the first time you did all of these.
How did you feel the first time you have to go to uni? or
The first time you are attending a new class every semester? or
Taking a new bus when you move into a new suburb?
Your anxiety levels went up the first time you did any of these.
However, once it’s done, this activity become part of your comfort zone because its not new any more. Its not an unknown. You know what is going to happen and you know what to expect.
Having said this, if you want to learn something new, make a change to your life, get a better job, or any activity that is out of your normal day you WILL have to get out of your comfort zone. This is the only way to evolve, to grow and to actively change and improve your life.
