Just because we can’t see each other face-to-face doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! We can always get together, thanks to technology, through or phones and social media accounts. Despite the bleakness of this pandemic, we are fortunate enough to connect to each other in the touch of a button.
So, if you are eager to have a virtual party with your family and friends, here are some unique ideas you can try out:
Trivia Night
Nothing beats a simple quiz night! You can host your own party by setting the date and time, choosing a platform (Skype or Zoom) and creating trivia questions! You can even look for interesting Qs to add to the mix online, in case you run out of ideas. All your friends need are a pen and some paper, and you’re good to go! You can keep score or you can just enjoy the night — totally up to you! To make things more interesting, you can add a theme: TV and movies, 2000’s pop culture, Harry Potter, etc.! Just make sure to keep things easy breezy.
Book Club
If you’re a bookworm who has spent countless nights finishing book after book, why not form your own online book club? This way, you won’t be finishing your entire stack with nothing left but your fond memories of the characters. To create your own book club, choose a book that everyone in the club can order online or access through an e-Book or audio book. Then, set a deadline. A month sounds like a pretty good length, but it all depends on the pace of your members. You can make up your own questions and encourage others to think of their own. We’re pretty sure you can find book club-ready questionnaires online, if need be. Arrange a date and let the conversation flow!
Karaoke
If you’re up for a full on party, why not create an online group and enjoy some karaoke? Just choose a video chat platform, find YouTube videos of the karaoke version of your favorite songs, and you’re good to go! You can take turns singing, have duets, sing as a group — do whatever you desire! You can even give each other scores, if you’re up for a little contest.
See? There are still so many ways to have fun and do whatever floats your boat this quarantine. We just gotta get creative! Connecting with others helps us stay optimistic and reminds us that physical distance cannot break the bonds we choose to keep. Enjoy!
It’s never too early to get ready for your next big adventure! Though it will take some time before we can explore the world like we used to, you can get some tips to boost your drive and your love for nature. Listen to this interview by Innovator Diaries with Terra Roams!
