So what is “The WOW factor”?
It is defined as a quality or feature (of something), that is extremely impressive and makes people feel great excitement or admiration.
It is what differentiates you from the competition.
Sometimes small details and touches will do the trick, but the reality s that one (very) positive experience will prompt customers to come back for repeat visits.
IN BUSINESS & PRODUCT
In the real world, The “WOW” factor simply means a company that goes beyond customer expectations.
It is a business that delivers great experience and services (perhaps offering things the client didn’t expect at all) and a high quality product.
The result is having a happy customer that will come back to your business and buy your product from you again (returning customers are the most important ones).
PRESENTATIONS
The “Wow” factor can also happen when you are interacting with people or making a presentation.
The whole idea is to impress your audience to the point where they feel compelled to respond and take the required action.
This can be done via visual, audio, video.
Including a story that creates empathy and meaning to the person listening to you.
You will obviously have to prepare and work hard on your presentation skills.
Some good books related to this specific topic are: Speak to Win, by Brian Tracy OR Confessions of a Public Speaker by Schott Berkun.
STRATEGY & CUSTOMER SERVICE
It can be done in two ways:
have a specific element within your customer service approach
have great employees that routinely impress your customers.
The whole idea is that you leave a memorable impression on the client from the moment they start interacting with you and your business.
Training, communication, processes, procedures and creativity are key in making your customers say “WOW”.
These need to be implemented on a daily basis so that it becomes sustainable.
This will also be essential for your companies growth (nobody said it was going to be easy).
As a conclusion having a “WOW” factor in what ever you do will set you apart form the rest.
It’s simply good business and it will almost make your competition irrelevant.
