What would we do without art? Whether we understand it or not, art is what makes our life more meaningful. It represents our thoughts and emotions, as we recognize and relate deeply to the shapes and patterns in an artist’s masterpiece. Art can also be superficial and fun, done and appreciated just for kicks.
No matter your motivation for appreciating art, David Handley is the man to thank for making so many beautiful pieces available to the Australian public. Through creating and directing “Sculpture by the Sea,” an annual free art event in Australia, artists and aficionados can connect outside the walls of a gallery. David handly shows his revolutionary spirit and inspires us to look beyond the surface of his beautiful gift to the world.
David Handley’s years of dedication and hard work is reflected in how the event has succeeded despite many challenges. In this interview, David Handley talks about what ordinary citizens can do to further promote, support and power art appreciation in Australia.
